more access violation problems - reproducible |
this time it's not a problem with the delete fleet command - which IIRC is being fixed.
This time I have a fleet of 15 or so ships next to warp gate and I know that on the other side of the gate there is a big fleet of 20 or so enemy ships.
First off, as per normal I just sent a couple of ships through to see if they made a dent in the enmy - no such luck but that's war. As soon as I clicked on continue, after my ships got wiped I got an access violation.
Reloaded from last save and this time I figured I'd get rid of some of my ships and make a dent in the enemy - I've got 70 or so Light Cruiser and Cruiser and they badly need upgrading / replacing, and gets my number of ships to manage down as well.
Sent a fleet of 15 ships through the jump gate - all got wiped in seconds - enemy using meson blasters (which I will get next turn) and when I clicked continue - access violation.
So it seems reproducible - is it worth me sending a zip of the saved game files off to the devs to have a look at? if so, where do I send it?

Re: more access violation problems - reproducible
okay looks like I've found the problem, I was looking at the news aggregator and saw this under the beta testing subject:
Version 1.45:
1. Fixed - Having more than 20 fleets would sometimes cause an access violation.
2. Fixed - An Access violation would occur occassionally after combat with a fleet.
probably the second applies but I do have a lot of (small) fleets as well.
(I always have trouble with spelling occasionally as well
