Advanced Game Stuff, Not Looking for Details |
I hear of making sphere worlds and such and just wondered (without details, I'll look for posts on that later if needed) if things like this later in the game are fairly easy to figure out on your own.
No idea what's deep in the research tree yet, aside from a quick glance at the dumped tech tree. So wonder if I can get to and figure out how to make sphere world on my own from something I might research later.

It is pretty straight forward after 2 mins of reading up yes.
If you do get stuck however then there are plenty of topics on this board that will help you or just ask in here.

let's say that, to get ring and sphere world quickly you have to spend a lot of research point in almoste the sequent fields:
- ship's hull, till max levels
- bases, till max levels
- space yards, the farthest the better
- supply, to a certain extent
- astrophysics
- stellar manipulation, till max levels
So said, if you desire to rush towards the gigantic marvels of ring and sphere worlds, mind that you must find a way to generate a lot (millions) of research points to spend in the aforementioned fields. I think you had better to choose:
1) a map where the warp points are not all linked (explore quickly all the systems in yours "section" of the galaxy and dispatch or conquer any other empire you encounter: in this way you are in a "golden prison" where to conduct the researches you prefer);
2) a race with all possible research bonus.
Finally, fill each and every spot of the planets (all planets you can grab) with research centres. Naturally that means you have to spend research points also in the field of Applied Research (and also in the other fields required to develop the resources' extractor - mineral, organics and radioactive, otherwise your empire will face bankrupt very soon).
Not simple but funny, exspecially because who manages to reach the highest level of Stellar manipulation quickly becomes a demi-god. Good luck.
