Green Warp Points

Soumis par Harmonious Hegemony le Sam, 2007-08-25 13:31 Space Empires V General

OK, we've discussed some of this in the past. It seems that enemy ships can slip right past, undetected by any pickets that I have posted in green warp points. The system notes say that "Unusual gravitic fields in sector . . . mask ships from basic scanners". Someone pointed out that there was probably an error in that and it should say sensors instead of scanners. Since my sensors don't pick them up they can fly right through untouched. What I have noticed though is that when I try to go through the same warp point I always engage the enemy pickets posted on the other side. Now why would that be? Isn't that a bug?

Interesting! I fitted a ship with Tachyon sensors, parked it at the warp point, and it caught those sneaky little buggers. So I guess that answers that. The system notes should say basic sensors instead of scanners.

Both sides of the warp point do not necessarily have the same effects; the other side may have no obscuration. The AI also has a tendancy to put high level sensors on all of its ships.

Using 1.44 and bm 1.09 a small sat(100kt) will hold basic sensor, tachyon sensor, long range sensor with a little space left. Good for seeing those pesky ships and spying on enemy planets. A medium sat(120kt) can have a combat sensor and tachyon sensor with whatever is your prefered weapon plus depending on the weapon some armor other sensors etc those pesky enemy ships will not be coming across your warp point blockade any longer.
