Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
Number 3 should add some excitement
Any idea when the next public release will be? Im anxious...
Groovy Baby Yeah!
Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
Any chance for a european/international patch with all that awesome changes anytime soon? I'm still on 1.30/1.33 with my european version and would really be happy to upgrade soon.
Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
I thought there was a thread talking about the release of the European 1.44 version, I could be wrong as I don't have a european version so I didn't pay too much attention.

Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
#6 would be a welcome addition for me too. Saves unnecessary mouse wheel action.
Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
Since I downloaded 1.44 I have been having a problem with ground combat. Units are very often getting stuck outside of the grid. If they a more units I can not select them to move out and if they are enemy units I can not target them. Will this problem be fixed in 1.49?

Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
#6 is definitely a welcome change, but it would be even better if there were some speed improvements. Has anyone else noticed huge delays when opening large lists? In a previous game my empire had about 190 ships, and the ship list would take several seconds to open. It was really beginning to annoy me...

Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
Version 1.48:
7. Fixed - Speed up for big list windows with large numbers of items.

Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
The game really needs speeding up in all areas including more work on turn processing. The slowness of the game is a killler at present.
Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
Thanks, found it and worked like a charm
Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
Just been checking the change logs since 1.44, and it looks like theres great pile of fixes. Good work. Not being able to fire on ringed worlds with short ranged weapons drove me crazy.
But when can we expect to see these fixes in a non-beta patch?
Best,
Darren
Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
As with every time its been asked in the past, there is no set release schedule. The patch will come out when MM decides its ready for a public release.
Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
Has Aaron voiced his opinion about making the beta patches free-for-all? Obviously the beta testers would still have to do the main job, but this way especially interested people would be made happier and more bugs might be discovered between non-beta releases.
Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
No he has not, but it's not going to happen.
The patch will be released in a week or two.
Patience young ones...
How do I know this? I know the work, therefore I know the man... I see into his mind...

Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
Aaron has been adding new beta testers recently, so especially interested people should send him an email about becoming a tester...

Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
I keep a book at my desk & read during the turn processing. Works out pretty well, actually.
Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
I watch cable. I have a tv right next to my monitor. I have two sets of headphones, tv in one ear, SEV in the other. Add the TrackIR headset when I'm playing Over Flanders Fields and I look like a cyborg.

Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
I have two computers set up, during turn processing I switch over to the other computer and surf the net. Like right now.
SEV, more than a feeling.

Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
Some folk don't have unlimited time.

Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
I watch TV on the other video computer next to the gaming computer. I've learned a lot from the History channel between turns...
Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
Well, thats true of course. I think we are just looking for a silver lining and fun things to do while you wait, rather than sitting there fuming at the computer. All in all its not too bad, the game gets to the main menu way faster than anything else I own. Save game loads are fast. Theres no "mission" load waits either, no waits when entering a building like in Oblivion or something. Just a decent wait between turns and I can rarely get through more than four or five turns in a sitting anyway. I dont find the game to be more tedious than any other, less so in fact typically. Get a glass of water, take a pee, kiss your girl.
Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
I think the speed has been greatly improved.
Turn processing times are acceptable now, even for large games. The memory leak going along with that has been fixed too.
The upcoming list speedup from the beta patch will be helpful, too. (Maybe this was a general fix to the listing routine so everything will be a bit faster. We will see.)
I would say the game does not suffer from slowness as THE game killer anymore. The main annoyances (for me) with 1.44 are the few access violations that have been fixed with 1.45. Other than that it plays fine for me (not counting the AI, as always)

Re: SE:V Changelog v1.49
Number 6 will be very nice indeed.
