1.44 Issue

Hi, I recently patched SE5 to 1.44, previous games with 1.35 research generated from my bases added to my research pool, now building them doesnt add to my research pool with the current patch even though my base shows it is producing research points, anyone else has this issue?

When space empires is starting up, it slows down to freezing up speeds with the mouse cursor, I usually have to keep the mouse cursor off screen then try quickly to click on new game, or resume when moving it back onto the screen, this goes away after clicking on one of the buttons and behaves normally, I noticed there is a difference in size between the cursors from it running slow to normal.
