I like playing organic tech just so I can use a more balanced amount of organics in my productions but as much as I try, there is still too little to use. The colony components need more organics and some of the other components too.
I would like to see organic mine componet(s).
Organic engine
Organic point defense
Organic cargo holds
a couple of sizes of organic ship hulls, like a frigate, crusier and dreadnaught, Maybe a colony ship and or transport.

I don't really see the point of organic versions of some things. It's still a cargo hold. It does exactly the same thing. It's just that it'd probably cost less mineral and more food.(a good thing since it shortens construction time.)
Oh and giving special hull types special properties is nice.

I really liked in seiv that organic ships could heal damage.
It would be pretty easiy to make organic versions of all these things, and if you think about it, a race that used giant creatures as ships would probably have organs that act as targeting computer and other componenets.

If you are only doing a few things, sure its easy. But when you set out to do everything, for multiple different types of races... oi.

Is there a way to switch minerals for organics for ALL costs? That would be an easy way to do a truly organic race.

I don't think you could do it unless you just made an organic equivilent of each component.

You don't necessarily need a copy of every component; you could probably use an iff function in the cost formulas, testing for possession of the trait (see reqs for the organic techs).

You already have organic hulls.
