I like it. there are 2 things that annoy me though. Not being able to research at all is a pain. more annoying however is the number of small warp points....
I really love the new system types. kinda reminds me of somthing I would have done. If I was to actually sit down and work more than 5 minutes on it. (the most novel thing I've actually done is making a trinary system type that's surround by a large asteroid belt, those empty systems really annoy me.)

Re: Junkyard
Well, where exactly do you get the Junkyard Wars Mod, and how to install it?
EDIT: well, i followed the readme's instructions, but it says it cannot load junkyardwars mod

Re: Junkyard
I tried Junk Yard and the planets didn't give me any tech. do you have to load a presaved map?
Also, I had an idea/suggestion. Maybe you could have certain junk heaps give you some research points for one turn. That way you could refine a research area that you got some basic tech in.

Re: Junkyard
My other question was... Do you only get tech from planets with ancient ruins, or do you get tech from all planets. And if only ancient ruins, how do you make all the planets have ruins?

Re: Junkyard
All of the planets have ancient ruins. This is accomplished in StellarAbilityTypes.txt by altering chance values (eg: set the 1 tech ruins ability to 1000 to ensure all planets have at least 1 tech).

Re: Junkyard
Oh, I must of set my game up wrong, because I didn't have any ruins... I'll go check this later.

Re: Junkyard
The whole concept of Junk Yard Wars is no research, only being able to use tech you find laying round in garbage heaps (on planets).
