Can carriers be simulated properly? |
I'd like to run a few carrier (freighter) types in the simulator, but there seems to be no way to get a carrier loaded with fighters into the simulator. I'd like to determine how many fighter bays I need and what strategies to use and which fighter types to load, ect. And I can't see a way to get anything but an empty Freighter type carrier into the sim. Any ideas?
Re: Can carriers be simulated properly?
In the simulator there is a button labelled I think "Set Cargo" which you can use to load fighters into your carriers.

Re: Can carriers be simulated properly?
Is your carrier part of a fleet? I was confused at first when my ships didn't appear to respect their strategies, but then I realized that the fleet's strategy was overriding the strategies of individual ships. Now I typically have a couple different task forces in a fleet in order to assign multiple strategies (e.g. I'll use a task force set to Capture Planet for my transports, but everyone else is in the primary task force set to Short Weapons Range).

Re: Can carriers be simulated properly?
Isn't there a cargo button in the simulator setup screen? SE4 had it, and I can't recall offhand if SE5 does, but I seem to recall it.
