Driver cause crash |
Hi,
I recently bought Space Empires V from HMV. I updated my graphics drivers, defraged my hard disk and then installed SEV. I patched SEV; now version 1.35. I started a new game and clicked on a planet. The computer crashed to a blue screen with this text: 'Problem with this file: nv4.disp.dll'
Any ideas?
My system:

Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 x 6700 @ 2.66 GHz
2 GB RAM
2 x NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GX2
Latest graphics driver: 6.14.10.9424
Microsoft Windows XP
Media Centre Edition

nv4.disp.dll is an Nvidia file from geforce4 if I remember correctly.
You have very new cards, so the driver might not be perfect yet...

If it worked at 1.35 with previous version of the driver I sugest that you revert to that. I have not had ther problem myself but do recall reports of SEV not working or working well with newer nVidia drivers. I would also sugest that you try a diferent vidio card if you have one since the graphics in SEV dont require a state of the art Vidio card
