Organizing ship component list

The more games I play and the higher tech I get the more frustrated I become with the alphabetical listing of ship components while creating a new ship. Is there a way I could organized the ship component list similar to how the planet facilities list is organized (by types). As a couple of examples I would love to put bridge, crew quarters, and life support together, and I would like to put all engines + solar sails next to each other.
