Hey im new, well not quite |
Hey long term fan of the game for a few years back when i got a demo on my P200 a few years back of SE2 i played with my sister.
I bought SEIV a few years ago and me and my sister played offline for a while before i moved out. Now i got a stable job and what not i just got SEV last night and without anyone to play local offline with i am reduced to just playing SP which to me isnt the real glory of this game.
I joined this community to i could discuss this game as well as hopefully find someone to play with either TCP/IP or over email.
I look forward to playing with anyone of you.
Re: Hey im new, well not quite
Ring and sphere worlds are still in the game!
Re: Hey im new, well not quite
Hey Unclebiggins, glad to have you here. Go here http://seiv.pbw.cc/ to find online games. Yes Sphere Worlds, and Ring Worlds are still in the game. There are also league matches to join http://koth.spaceempires.net/se5/, which I also recommend.

Re: Hey im new, well not quite
You may also want to try out the various mods that have been released so far.
Unnamed's AI Mod - Improves the Stock AIs to be more of a challenge:

Balance Mod - Kwok's redesign of the game, utilizes more SE:IV like mechanics - especially for research. Also generally better AI.

Inter-Related Mod (IRM) - Complex, intertwined technologies and components. Also generally better AI.

Balance Mod seems to be one of the most common mods used for online play, so at least get that. If you would still like to play singleplayer now and then, any of the mods provide a better AI than stock does.
