Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy? |
i tried my newest starbase design in the simulator. i put 3 Battleships and 1 starbase in the combat simulator. the starbase got all it's armor mounts(they work) and 6 shield generators. the shields doesn't work, is it a bug? and when the battleships got in range, they started blowing up the starbase. but the starbase didn't hit back. is it a bug?

How can a starbase in a SIMULATOR not have supplies??

Re: Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy?
Unless you didn't give it engines, I beleive you just burned Kwok.

Anyway, what are these "armor mounts" you speak of?

Re: Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy?
The starbase still needs supplies (ie supply storage components) to fire its weapons even in the simulator.

But engines store supplies...

Re: Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy?
Holy crap I'm a dumbass.
Base-ships.
Whoo boy...

Re: Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy?
I haven't play a lot, but...starbases have engines??? That can't be a stock game you're playing, is it?
I was thinking that the weapons themselves stored supplies but after checking the manual I realized they only stored ordinance. So, my apologies to the Captain. The starbase may indeed be lacking supplies.
(note to self: design new bases with more supply storage)

Re: Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy?
Base-ships.
Whoo boy...
I thought you had the DeathStar or something....

Re: Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy?
Hi also remember weapon ranges? you may be out ranged?
Have you developed your weapon mounts?
These will extend your range and damage to your direct fire weapons.
You get there? LOL hope this helps
Re: Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy?
Starbases, the immobile balls of bigness, cannot have engines. Many ship designs get all their supplies from engines, and if you work under that theory, then your starbase may have absolutely no supply storage. Furthermore, many weapons that need ordinance have no ordinance storage, so you may have absolutely no ordinance storage.
I believe an absence of supplies keeps shields from working, and I know an absence of supplies and/or ordinance will keep most weapons from working.

Re: Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy?
in SE:IV the starbase came with unlimited supplies however in SE:V you have to put in both ordnance storage and supply storage components. Without these they are a nice big defenseless target. also the starbase is resupplied just like ships so you need to make sure you have plenty of resupply depots in the system to keep everything fully loaded.
Re: Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy?
In lieu of Resupply Depots, Solar Panels and/or Ordinance Vats (if you have Organic Tech) can help you regain supplies/ordinance without using valuable facility space on more Resupply Depots than are absolutely necessary.
Re: Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy?
Yes. Stock does have a movable baseship but its slow think its 4 engine slots only. Had a large one built with the latest weapons and armor in the simulator with plenty of supplies and ordance with about 10 enemy ships againt it it dies fast. Build one decent battleship and those same 10 ships are gone. Deathstar is not a concept that works. Works good in MOO2 and GC but not SEV.

Re: Why doesn't my star base atack the enemy?
I disagree. You can design a baseship that will take out those 10 ships, It's all in the design. Noway is 1 battelship going to do better than 1 baseship. Just fill up the difference with shields and armor.
SEV, more than a feeling.
