Balance Mode Question |
I have installed BM 106. I have tried to play 2 games and the AI appears to not colonize beyond their home system. I have made sure I have the AI on the hard setting. What is wrong? Is there some other setting I should make?
I currently have colonized well over 40 systems (Large).
I have made no modifications to the balanced mod.

Re: Balance Mode Question
are you sure they're not the minor races that you're encountering?

Re: Balance Mode Question
Wait, you're relying on Intel and scouts to check the AI? If you want to first make sure the AI is expanding, you should make all score visible and check that way.

Playing Touhou games (Go here if interested . No, nobody else is that good/insane as that replay). No rush for SE V bug fixing.

Re: Balance Mode Question
Are these races automatically generated or did you add them in game setup?
If you e-mail me the save game I can let you know what the problem is. See the readme.txt for an address.

Re: Balance Mode Question
Don't worry, I took no offense or anything. I was just curious to what the problem might be...
I examined the save game you sent and all of the computer players are neutral players - that is they do not expand beyond their home system. In the game setup, there are two options for Random Computer Computers - one for regular AIs and the other for neutral AIs. Make sure the first option is selected if you want regular AI empires that expand etc.

Re: Balance Mode Question
How many racial points are you using? There is a bug with the AI using the Natural Merchants trait that causes them to scrap their homeworld facilities. If you drop to 2000 points, you will avoid this bug and the AI should behave normally.
It is fixed for the upcoming v1.07...
