Cargo UI for Units |

Is it just me, or is the way units are now handled rather poor? Rather than stacking them into a stack of this unit x this many, it has each unit as a seperate listing... with the result that its impossible to read the darned list!
Now, I understand that its done that way so that units can take and hold damage on their own, independent of their "mother" ships, which is good, but... it sucks to play!
To that end, I have a suggestion for you guys to debunk (afterwhich one of us can pass it on to Aaron):
Have two "lists" for each unit, the first one which is for fully repaired units and works like SE:IV's, and the second one a collapsed listing of the damaged ones with a number appended to it.
-"Super Fighter-1" x 59
+"Super Fighter-1" (damaged)x13
to turn into
-"Super Fighter-1"x59
-"Super Fighter-1"(damaged)x13
Super Fighter-1 (89%) x1
Super Fighter-1 (75%) x3
Super Fighter-1 (72%) x1
Super Fighter-1 (65%) x1
Super Fighter-1 (48%) x1
Super Fighter-1 (43%) x4
Super Fighter-1 (42%) x2
Something like that would be a lot less clunky, though reprogamming some aspects of the GUI might be necessary.
Anyone see any problems?
I'm with CK on this one. As
I'm with CK on this one. As long as there is any stacking included it would be a big plus from where we are today.

I don't think units take
I don't think units take individual damage in the carrier - they should be wiped out by the loss of fighter bays or cargo containers on the ship.
If you just present a % damage for the stacked group I think that is sufficient enough.

No need to distinguish damaged units
As I have said elsewhere, I would even argue that it doesn't even matter to distinguish between damaged and undamaged units. I doubt at any time would players have a significant % of damage units lying around. They are too disposable.
Anyway I'd expect this issue to be addressed shortly...
