Skip turn command? |
Is there anyway to skip the turn of a ship? I use the next ship/fleet/planet command and I often get lost on which ships have orders and which dont (which is more of a pain than you may think-many ships i simply want to idle on systems). Is there anyway to set a ship to be skipped in the next ship list? I tried doing 'only select each location once' but that doesnt seem to be doing the trick (i could have sworn it did in my last game).
SENTRY is not what I'm looking for. I only want to skip one turn and give it orders next turn. SENTRY also does NOTHING if there is an enemy ship in the system. Very annoying.
Re: Skip turn command?
Have you tried setting these ship to Sentry duty?

Re: Skip turn command?
He just said sentry IS NOT what he is looking for.

It takes decades to build something that will only be destroyed in 5 minutes.

Re: Skip turn command?
I miss the Halt command from SEIII...
Re: Skip turn command?
Ideally, there would be a variety of "do nothing" commands; all of these would keep the ship from showing up in the "next ship/fleet needing orders" list while active:
* Blockade: Take no movement actions, and engage any hostile ships or units that attempt to enter (or exit, or are built in) the hex; but do not attack planets and do not flee the hex. Active until countermanded manually.
* Garrison: Take no movement actions normally, but allowed to flee combat if necessary. Active until countermanded manually.
* Sentry: Take no movement actions until a hostile ship or unit enters (or is built and launched) within scan range.
* Repair: Take no movement actions until fully repaired and with supply and ordnance above the warning level.
* Resupply: Take no movement actions until supply and ordnance are full (once the bugs are fixed, this should probably also include full crew). It should be possible to queue this after "Repair".
* Delay: Take no movement actions until the next turn.
I play a fair amount of Civ IV, which has the equivalent of Garrison, Sentry, Repair, and Delay; and it's far easier to manage your empire than in SEV.

Re: Skip turn command?
Even if there was simply a "skip turn" option. This would basically remove the ship from the next ship orders button. It bothers me when I have a fleet or ship(s) getting either repaired or resupplied, but the ship will get the destination, but for some stupid reason it apparently needs orders and I will tell it to go through a worm-hole, but to my suprise this ship travels a whopping 2 hexes because of damage, aaagghhh, I just want to pull my hair out when that happens.

Re: Skip turn command?
If you are playing simultaneous mode, you could give the ship a random order like load supplies or something like that if what you mean is that you just want to make it so it doesn't show up when you press space.
I sort of forgot how regular turns are like now so I can't help you there, sorry. But maybe you move the ship to one spot, then move it back to where it was, making it have no movement points left.
