Bug - Research Points?

Hi everyone!

It´s a bug or a feature?

The following happens to me:

Small map (only there): At about round 50 no more research points won´t be transfered to the empires research centre. The plantes are goning on in generating research points. So no more researching is possible.

Medium map (only there): At about round 50 or 60 no more intelligence points won´t be transfered to the empires intelligence centre. The plantes are goning on in generating these points.

Whats the reason? I got SE5 by steam and it´s v1.33.
Do i something wrong in the game?

These happens suddenly fron one turn to the next and at every game!

Large map i´ve not played until now.

uhm, did you possibly accept a treaty by AI that prevents research?

If you don't look through an entire treaty with an AI, they can stick stupid things in there like, no research for you, or no intellegence by you, no treaties with anyone else.

I would think that is the most likely cause of no research/intelligence. Did you happen to agree to a treaty in those games?

I have the same problem and i don't have any treaties with any other empires , (SEV version 1.35 for me) the AI would build research centers but the amount of points would remain the same , and not only with research but with intelligence centers too

I know it's basic, but... perhaps you aren't building Space Ports? Research points won't reach you without a Space Port.

Another thing is you don't see the point increase the turn the facility is built but the next turn.

Lord Charles , i already know that , i had plenty of next turns after the AI builds research and intelligence facilities but the number would remain the same , just like bbcc mentioned ,he said by about 50 turns of gameplay , for me it was a bit earlier by 35 turns, i mentioned this thing to Captain Kwok in his forum too, i thought it was with his mod but it seems that it is a SE5 1.35 one, i reinstalled the game but it still the same , i didn't have that problem with 1.33 , i'm glad to see that i'm not the only one having that problem , i hope it will be fix in the next patch !!!

Could you (bbcc, boromeo, or anyone else with a similar problem) post a savegame exhibiting the problem somewhere that people could download it and check it over? Most people are not having this problem, so it is either an obscure bug that is not going to be patched without an example to debug, or it is user error and we can suggest what to do differently.

Same problem here. I was playing the balance mod, and I had not even contacted any AI opponents yet, so I had signed no treaties. At some point the research generation of my empire froze, had spaceports in all my systems. This is a game ending bug, please fix.

I never had such problem, but maybe it is caused by AI empires signing a no-research treaty that is then applied to the human empire instead...

AI Treaties bug

That bites! I never had such problem either, but I didn't make it far enough into the game to really tell. It seems apparent that, from Helker's comment, the treaties between the AIs could be causing that "blocker" bug. I have submitted a report about this bug.

My comment was just a supposition, I'm not sure about that Smiling

It can be easily verified though (I think). If a player's research get stuck, he or she can log into the other AI empires and check if they signed such treaty....

Kwok, I am actually playin a BM 1.06 game,now after 32 game turns , the AI seems to be fine , building research centers and adding the research points but if it gets stuck again i will send u the game but how ? and what's ur email ?
