Why do they hate me? |
I have a pretty extensive set of treaties with a race, including tech share, trade up to 30%, mutual military aid... the whole palette.
Relations started at "Helpful", but they are deteriorating for no apparent reason. We don't build colonies in each other's systems, I always accept their demands, never demand anything from them, I even take care not to be friendly with their enemies. When I give them gifts, they just refuse them. Meanwhile, relations have dropped to "Apathetic".
What do I have to do, to get our relations back up, or at least keep them from deteriorating further?

There was a change to how the score comparisons were performed, which has affected the mood descriptors in v1.06 of the Balance Mod. That is why the mood is only fluctuating between helpful/apathetic.
If you turn on your "Enemy Analysis" minister you can fix this problem and see their proper mood. Don't worry, he doesn't do anything else that can affect your empire.

By the way, thanks for sharing your lovely mod with us. SE5 would be unbearable to me without BM.

Yes, this is a Balance Mod only thing. I've made the fix for v1.07 already.

Have you tried switching deoderants?
I find the AI to be moody at best myself.
