With your capital ship bridge idea, you could make it greatly increase a ships maint costs, so that you wouldn't just put one on each ship.
A question comes to mind, I haven't gotten into writing the AI, but does changing stuff like this make rewriting the AI files nessisary?

Have you done those hull expansion components? Do they work? this is s a great idea.
with reguard to space yard rate modifiers, I've used them on a planet facility scale and they only apply to the planets facility (don't know if they can be used as a component).
I changed the temporal space yard to modifiy the regualar space yard build rates.

Yea, i got one, idk but there is in science an unknown about the universe called the "Ether" Many tests have been doen to confirn or disprove its' existance but has never gained any proof really, still reasons have been made why it could be undetectable, think of it like it is what fills the miniscule space between sub-particles, like the ocean for everything, well it is also said to have unlimited energy, kind of like zero-pont energy but usage from our own existence. You could make a technology after mastering Stellar Manipulation and Put Universal Ether Physics, or something like that and give like, "Ether Generator" (generates x amount of supply, generates x amount or ordinance, give damage boost from extra energy by x amount, etc...) system-wide, galaxy wide, etc... just a thought, i've implemented some in mine.
(What was thought impossible years before is now normal life...Just give it a few more years, you'll be amazed.)

It would be awesome to find a way to harness that. Anti-gravity is one possible application that comes to mind.

harness in real life? if so a scientist stated he did so in real life(the creator of ac{alternating current}) Or i mean more of he said he knew how to draw power from it and...(my long story comes here but i will stop just in case your not talking about in real life...lol) more like i don't feel like typing but w.e...
how about think like this...a generator or random movement that is explained, fastest distant from point ato point b is not a straight line but through nothing, aka a hole in space, component will move you random movement point generation up to 10, usable once per turn, umm... Spontaneous Gravitational Core, like a mini wormhole but different and to lazy to write a jump from point a to b without actually moving the ship..ie. teleport.
On anti-gravity.... um... totally different physical property, i'm trying to think on how would such a thing be produced but i cannot besides using a magnetic fieldto repel yourself from (Earth) and you would appear to have anti gravity. The magnetic field around your "ship" would act like a sort of barrier also but not a very good one...

religious=harder woriking and more content
psychic=faster production and never miss(they know what to do, their psychic)
Organic=super fast regeneration of ship+ all components and absorb 5% torp/misl damage(skin)
crystalline=relective hull(always) negate 10% beam and harder to detect on radar
Temporla=High evasion rate(null's psychic always hit to norm) and ...lost thought

hmmm... The special shield would probably be best done as a tech with 25 levels and it gives you 1% deflection per level.

with one of my mods i made it simple....only possible weapons are phasers, and warheads.
, i left everything else in and the battles are way more interesting and strategical.

You should post this onto the thread for ideas about SE6. These are some pretty awsome ideas. I like them. I have a few other ideas for some components, and your ideas got me to thinking. There should be some different crew quarter options perhaps, giving the ship some different abilities. And maybe some other sensor packages. Cudos on the ECCM. I don't kow how that was missed in the actual game. It just seems that it should already exist. Great stuff.

im thinking of a massice componenet that costs over 1mil of each resourceand give 1000 supply to every allied ship in galaxy. A forerunner technology.




Crazy Shield Idea --
Ok I won't Append this I will just Post a new post to keep from messing up my existing list.. .
Dimensional Shields --- Energy Field that exist in multiple dimensions at the same time. That shunts the energy that strikes the shield to alternate dimensions lowering Damage by 25%( Beam,Bolt, Directed Torpedo,& Torpedo)
Got the Idea from looking at the Energy Refractor.. Not sure if I could get it to work but have this type of shield a rune tech or so...
