Sunshine the movie. What's your opinion? |
Just came back from watching that movie.
It was so so.
So I feel I should talk about it here.
3 Things:
1. The ships computer was crap!
Example 1:
What do you mean you're taking auto ship control? What?!?! the oxygen farm is on fire?
Why didn't you say so in the first place and start the alarm!
Example 2:
What do you mean we don't have enough oxygen to make it? There are 5 crew on board?
And you are telling me this now after We're f$^&ed?
Don't know about you, but since the "suicidal" computer logic of Space Odyssey 2001 that's
The most stupidest thing I have ever seen! Computers are just getting worse in movies especially ship computers. I really can't remember a good one! Nothing comes to mind!
2. The science of the thing was stupid.
-There are no materials that can withstand the suns energy in that distance, and there can never be. They have to be actively powered materials or some kind of shield, None of those crappy panels that you can walk on.
-How on earth that ship is changing it's inertia and speed so fast? How did they entered into orbit around the sun in less than a day? The movie states that it's in the near future 2057 or so and the ship is using just boosters and no fancy inertia nullifiers or any other fancy stuff.
3 The movie didn't fill in the blanks. It leaves too much to the individual to make up or justify in one way or another. I can forgive the above two faults but that's one that spoiled the eggs for me.
I'd like to hear some opinions here.
