Simultaneous movement/combat on a warp |

Space Empires IV General
I'm trying to find an explanation on what happen:
I warp and I find an enemy on the other side, he has ships already on the warp that starts at close range with me + ships that just arrived in the sector that starts further.
But what is weird is that I moved first, so I was able to destroy all his ships before he could move.
What is the explanation of that?
Is this because of the ships that arrived in the sector at the same time as I did and I was lucky to be considered the defender or is it because I am player 1 and he is 3? All ships have the same movement points (6).
Thank you

There's a bug until v 1.58 when they've only got a v 1.54 history?
Me confused ...

Re: Simultaneous movement/combat on a warp
What version number of the game are you running?
There was a bug in determining combat order that wasn't completely squashed until v1.58.
If you're playing a more recent version than that, it probably was because of the other ships arriving.
Are you certain that the ship that started near you didn't follow you through the warp point?
"Good morning, Pooh Bear," said Eeyore gloomily. "If it /is/ a good morning," he said. "Which I doubt," said he.
