Disable display of ship movement? |
Hi,
is it possible NOT to display my ships moving on route?
I tend to have a lot of ships going and would like to "select ship - move to " and immidiately
continue playing without having to wait for the ship to use its remaining movement points...

Disable movement display = dangerous
It can be dangerous to completely disable the display of movement. Sometimes my ships will get stuck in "loops", and I must quickly cancel their orders (press backspace) to avoid wasting movement points.
For example, suppose I have a ship trying to move through a warp point. Unfortunately, this ship does not have sensors... so it doesn't see the enemy ship guarding the warp point until just one hex away. In this case, the ship gets stuck in a loop. It moves to within 1 hex of the warp point and then sees the enemy ship, causing it to back up and try a different route. But as soon as it backs up a hex, the enemy ship disappears from view, and my ship tries the original route all over again.
So sometimes it's nice to see these things as they happen - it's not always obvious what transpired after the fact.
Although I don't disable the display of movement, I *do* increase the speed a bit.

Re: Disable display of ship movement?
In my options I only have System Icon Movement Speed going from Low to Very High - no "Instantaneous moves" option...
Re: Disable display of ship movement?
I have the same settings as BlueTemplar, no real way to completely get rid of it, unlike SEIV.

Been spamming for days now,
Really need to get some volunteers to help moderate the forum
