ruins on uncolonizeable planets |
if the game option you choose only allows you to colonize only the same type of planet as your initial starting one (e.g. rock, ice, or gas giant)- is there some means to later gain access to the planets that have ruins but are otherwise uncolonizeable.
i've tried taking the inhabitants of one that originated from that type of planet to try the colonization, but that doesn't work. (e.g. a race that inhabits gas giants which i conquer, i build a colony ship and load it w/ that race- they are unable to colonize that planet).
Re: ruins on uncolonizeable planets
Maybe you could capture an enemy colony ship that has a Gas Giant moudule on it.
Re: ruins on uncolonizeable planets
well have u tried capturing colony ships with diff modules? may or may not work.
Re: ruins on uncolonizeable planets
How about using technology and population "acquired" from a conquered race? I think you may be able to colonize using the appropriate colony ship containing only the appropriate population (but I'm not completely sure at the moment).
Re: ruins on uncolonizeable planets
Automatic colonization population is added to any new colony. IIRC it is always your native race type, regardless of what is on the colony ship. You'll need to scrap them (or manually load onto a cargo transport) in such colonization efforts, unfortunately.
Re: ruins on uncolonizeable planets
Don't forget that you can also jettison them in to space.

Re: ruins on uncolonizeable planets
no, if you make it so you can only colonize rock then you can never get ruins on other worlds, the race only changes wat atmosphere is breathable. you still need to actualy have the technology to build a colony on each type of world
