IRM 0.9c - possible bombardment bug

Anyone noticed that Nuclear Bombs won't shoot at planet? Ships armed with it standing near or over planet and 0 shots. No supply/ordnance taken from sihp so it looks like it won't shoot at all. Going to check Fusion Bombs shortly.

Some one reported somthing similar to this recently I think FH is looking at this one as it might be a bug introduced by 1.33

After some test I determined that it has something to do with strategies. If I set bombers to short weapons range they bombard correctly. This may heve something to do with distance calcultaions from planet and/or fact that bombs are seekers which fire slightly below maximum range after 1.33 patch.

Yes, i noticed the bug. Seem to me it was introduced by 1.33, not my code. I also noticed it is related to strategies (especially with fleets when fleet and individual ship strats differ). Haven't found a fix for that yet.

I seen the AI do a lot of weird things around planets...

Is the related to the 'ringed planets bug'? Seems like they may be the same overall bug.

Has anyone thoroughly tested this and reported it to Aaron?

It happens on any planet. Ringed ones don't have monopoly on it. But it looks like something is wrong with distance calculation to planets. If you have same weapons range as planetary platform you end up with being fired upon before you shoot. And getting 20+ missile volleys is another thing.
