How do i resupply my troops on a planet, theyve got no ammo left and theres a fighter buzzing around with no ammo to. its a bit of a stalemate, or if you cant how do i land more troops on the planet? cheers

i had the same problem in a game last week, i had 2 troops on a planet and he had 2, all were disabled with no ammo and the combat kept coming up every single turn and when i attacked the planet with a troop transport it wouldn't let it land....
i don't hav the solution though, i got sick of seeign the combat so i dropped a tectonic bomb on the planet.

At least your troops ran out of ammo/supply before they quit fighting. I've had tropps that sit and spin in place, waiting to get shot up by the one medium fighter the enemy had. My guys were fully supplied but refused to attack. Every turn, the fighter would go around and kill 10-15 of my units until they were all gone and i could dump a new set on the planet.

I remember having a somewhat similar problem with the 1.08 demo... my troops not firing. The solution I found was to ram enemy troops with mine.

thats wat i ended up doing in my problem, but they it ended with all of both sides remaining troops being disabled, hence the stalemate..... ofcourse i solved the problem using libral application on tectonic bombs

I have similar problems with large troops. They don't fit between the buildings and there was a weapon platform in the middle. My troops couldn't get to it without shooting facilities. I was playing BM mod at the time hence the WP's that can shoot in ground combat.

i have to ask cos i'm finding this a real problem....

all my ships sit there and and get killed. they very rarely fight at all.
why is this? they have ammo, supplies, weapons, zero damage... why can't they fight.. even fight back? i attacked a planet once with DU cannon armed frig and it destroyed the facs there. but that's been the only time i've seen my units actually FIRE THEIR WEAPONS. if i use auto attack they take turns firing as a one to one attritional thing which is pointless and stupid way of fighting. why shouldn't 14 ships destroy one crappy obsolete satellite without taking 2 ship in losses? afaic the sat shouldn't get to shoot more than twice before the hail of fire from all my ships should destroy it.
is this a bug? i can't believe the patch is in its 1,33 version yet this issue isn't yet solved? the units DO NOT FIGHT. even in auto attack they rarely bother.

I got a better stalemate story:
Enemy defends forever with a damaged fighter. Since it's damaged it can't make it to the battlefield and can't be killed.
The planet had no shipyard, so the fighter never repaired.
I took enough other planets that they finally stopped resisting and became part of the greater whole. It's not like these things can prevent destiny.

Lol, when i attacked a planet i didnt have to fight at all. My troops landed and the world was mine. But also, i have never had the issue where my ships didnt fire. They've always worked perfectly for me.
For the ground combat, i would just recommend putting more supplies on it. Forget all of the guns and stuff, because if you run out of supplies, your guns are worthless. Also, go with the lighter and cheaper guns that use less energy (or ordanance). Sometimes they fire faster, and they dont use as much supplies/ordanance.

You shold be able to land fresh troops by re atacking the planet with a troop transport. I would warn you that as its its planet the fighter could be resuplyed next turn had that happen and its quite embarasing
