Any New Ship Sets

STAR WARS, but not these Yoozhang Vong!

Yeah i wish there was more variety out there for shipsets...I've only found The two Galactica shipsets (Colonial and Cylon) like 3 or 4 trek ships, and this rather neat one called the nagrath. I've tried googling ot no success....But SEIV had hundereds of ships and was out for 6 years so hopefuly we will be flooded with new ships. I personaly am working on a shipset of my own design That features what I call the Old Earth Powers (france britan U.S. soviets Ect.) and the Decendants Coalition that features Colonial nations that split off from the old earth powers. But im still learning...Anyway if anybody has links to more shipsets could you includ a link?

The spaceempires.net site seems to have all current releases, which stands at 9 new shipsets. That seems to be pretty much it for shipsets as of yet. The game leaves plenty of room for growth, but we're still in the early stages of development.

Wait a year past release. We may have around 20 or so new, hopefully.

With this game, I am inspired to learn a program like Blender. Take the inspiration and create whatever you dream up!

I think the main sites are Space Empires .com and .net, I see allot of the same ids over on the Shrapnel forumns (same people doing the work and stuff), but for shipsets, SpaceEmpires.net has the most for SEV. I've looked pretty hard, ended up making the shipset I wanted. Its worth your time to learn a 3d modeler program and build your own ships.
If you have the time to texture, create the portraits and stuff, I have the models (well, most of the sci-fi ones worth anything), anyone want a model pack? I'll email you the files in any format you want (preferably 3ds or obj, their the easiest to work with).

There was a absolutly stunning Star Wars set for SE4. I hope the creator convert this for SEV.

Albi_joe is almost finished converting the Yagrath or whatever over at .net...He said after that he would work on another ship set after that...

It is harder to create shipsets for SEV than for the earlier games, so it is normal that they are put out slower.

They need the human ship sets from the Space Empires IV. The new human ships are dull, but the ones in SE IV are awesome.

Thanks! But if you want to see SE4 Humans, don't be looking at me because, A) I lost all the models in a big hard drive snafu, and B) the program I used to create the shipsets has no .X functionality, and no real export capability either. Which means that in order to create SE5 shipsets, I'd have to learn a whole new modelling program. Which I've tried to do, but progress is painfully slow and at the rate I'm going, I'll be able to make SE5 shipsets right around the time SE10 comes out.

Create a list of the "free" programs someone needs to convert 2D SEIV shipsets to SEV shipset format. Or is there no such animal?

Well, thats kind of like taking a picture that you tried to draw in kindergarden....Then taping it to the computer screen, and wondering why the hell the drawing is still in the "Primitive" 2D Form.
