There are localization versions being prepared by MM already for the European market. They'll probably be available in a couple months.

I do it myself. I have translated app. 70% to Hungarian language. But my nightmare is the HelpText.txt (near 4000 line!) I modified the GUI .bmp files, too. Hard work...

Wait going back to what ekolis said (WTF ekolis) Space empires used to have intros? I've played 4 and 5 and there is absolutly zero plot....

Because I have translated about 80%, I can tell you.
So you need translate files in /Data, /Empires folders and script files. It isn't difficult, the problem is: you must use names exactly in each files or you will suffer (you make some bugs). Then you must modify the UI's .bmp files with a graphich program (GIMP, Photoshop, etc) where you find English texts. That's not so easy. The most difficult is to translate MainText.txt, beacuse it is hard to find what you can translate and what you musn't.
My advice: first time just start to tranlate description text in .txt files, beacuse they can be translated without bugmaking. Then you will find if you want to continue.
I have been working on it for more then a half year and I need a lot of things to do.

Hi all,

I will ask about a patch for translations.
I've buy the original version by downloading since monthes now (in english only at this moment), I'm french, and I want to know if the french translation will be released in a patch ?

There's an actual French version. You'd probably just need a player to send you the French data files to use with your version.

From what I was told by MM, when the French/German versions are patched up to date, then mods etc. can just include all the english data files and it will work just fine. The Spanish/Italian versions should be able to use English mods with no problem right now.
