Should i start again?

Soumis par teran49 le Sam, 2007-02-24 12:32 Space Empires V General

I started my first game under stock 1.25 on a large map with default difficulty settings, however i'm now finding it somewhat lacking in challenge and in the diplomacy area. My question is, if i start a new game under maxed difficulty level will the AI inteligence improve? Or should i be looking at starting a new game with perhaps the balance mod or such?

Posting a post like this your always going to get a bunch of people piping in saying that the AI is weak at any level.... you need to fine tuen the AI's skills to your level.

Try giving it max level, with max bonuses. then if it's still easy try giving it a tech advantage. give it a bunch of free tech levels (which you don't take).

You should be able to fine tune the AI so that it gives you a tough fight. Set the setting see others score level, so that mid game you can see how others are doing and decide weather your completely outpacing them.

SEV, more than a feeling.

very true...so lets just hold off on the lets kick the stupid AI in the nuts again!

I am a big fan of the balance mod so I'd say try that...however I'm not sure how the AI is doing since the 1.25 patch as it may have screwed up the purchasing system like it did with the IRM. But from what you can see on other posts both the Cap and FH are working to get those systems fixed.

BTW its not that I dont play this game when I say i'm not sure how the AI is doing its just I've been playing against myself and not the AI...sad I know, but ture...hehe at least I know who's going to win Smiling
