Galactic History: Kroot Tribes |
Good day, class. Yesterday's lesson covered the Tau Empire's conquest of the Ortie Quadrant. This lesson will cover the Kroot Tribes, and their annihilation.
The Beginning
The beginning of the Kroot Tribes was simply put, barbaric. The majority of the Tribes were at war with one another for extended periods of time before they became a united people, and even then, things were difficult to organize between tribes. At roughly 1400.0, galactic calendar, the Kroot succeeded in organizing their new government, and all tribes joined. Over the next 600 years, they advanced their society enough to become a civilized race, and were prepared for space travel. They chose a world in the Jubrup system, seven sectors out from their homeworld Pech.
Colonization
The Kroot's ships were mediocre at best, but they worked. The very first ship was a Colony Ship that landed on a large rock planet with an oxygen atmosphere, Xanthar III, later dubbed 'New Pech.' Upon colonization, the planet's new colonists immediately got to work. Within two years, the planet had become a major mineral production and storage facility.
It was the only colony the Kroot would make.
First Contact
The Kroot built a pair of lightly armed exploration ships, dubbed Scorpion Frigates, and flew out beyond the colonies, to find a large white-blue anomaly. Upon finding it, the Scorpions relayed their location and the location of the anamoly to their Headquarters on Pech. The scientists on Pech studied the pictures and scanner readouts from the frigates for a solid month before arriving at the conclusion that the anamoly was a wormhole, or Warp Point. After research was completed, the Scorpions were issued orders to go through the wormholes, on a scouting mission. They did so, and upon doing so, they made first contact with an alien race: The Zirjay.
The Zirjay War
The first contact with the Zirjay race was very hostile. The Zirjay and Kroot ships opened fire on eachother immediately. There is no telling who fired the first shot, but whoever did unwittingly issued an unspoken order to eliminate the Kroot race.
The Scorpion scout ships were destroyed, after having wiped out a single Zirjay frigate. The other three frigates in the Zirjay battlegroup destroyed the scouts.
The Zirjay sent the remainder of that battlegroup through the Warp Point, and glassed New Pech with extreme prejudice, followed up quickly with the bombardment of the Kroot homeworld.
No Kroot survived either bombardment.
That ends today's lesson, class. Come back next week.

Senseless Glassing
So much senseless destruction in this game. Of course, if this was a balanced universe the Zirjay's frigates would have ran out of supplies and forced to build a couple of destroyers to finish the job.
Still so much senseless destruction
