Help name my mod

As some of you know I am working on a mod Starting with IRM and building on it

What would be a good name for it?

Well what does the mod do? Its hard to name something without some detail.... =)

- I dedicate my 200th post to all the Badgers out there, that help keep this so entertaining.

here is a brief history of what I have changed so for starting with IRM 0.7c

History

Version 0.2

changed space yard space taken from 600 to 200 to make it more useful in early game
changed sy stucture from 300 to 100 plus IRC formula
CHANGED MINERAL, ORGANIC AND RADIOACTIVE FACILITY BASE AMOUNT TO 2000

version 0.1.1 -20070207

fixed-Tech area bug
tested some early game stuff

Version 0.1 - 20070207

Transfered Settings file from my old mod to this one
changed maintaince cost from 25 to 10
changed planet high value to 300
removed the remote supplies disburtion from the Resupply depot
changed engines such that they can be placed in outer and inner hulls

I need a name for my mod as well. The original idea was, like IRM, to make many of the technologies synergize with one another (and thusly call the mod, Synergy Mod), but I have since made a lot of other wide sweeping changes. Planet utilization is "facility miniaturization", though technically it's more like increasing the amount of planet space usable. Space ports distribute supplies, not resupply depots, and some facilities have been made into starship component counterparts. Add in that all hull sizes are available from the start (but are not necessarily cost effective at the start), nuclear engines for larger ships, rocket engines for faster travel (but incredily short range), and eventually plans for a redesign of weapons/armor technologies so we have projectile weapons that can be customized with research, countered by hardened armor, beam weapons customizable with research, countered by reflective armor, explosive weapons (seekers), mostly countered by shields, combined with armor piercing variants, missile mounts for rockets/torpedoes/missiles variants, and other weapon changes. Additional plans for more random events and, though I'm reluctant to do this part, AI changes to help cope with all of the changes in this mod.

ah, Mylon..
explains alot of the interesting posts you've been in.
since i end up in them, too, you know you already have MY interest in your mod.

1 quick point/question-
i was just considering the engines thing myself -
what if "system ships" - fighters, what can't warp
(by the way, i don't let drones warp- so you NEED launchers)
use rocket engines (or what have you) - and that is what gives them their speed boost
BUT it only works on "small" size vessels, AND is the reason they can't warp?

bases - shipyards- so its off planet -
but then can bases be built like a unit, anywhere?
thats how i wanted to do it, but am afraid it would TOTALLY queer the AI.

Anyway -this should be its own thread out of respect to the other nice modder fellow Evader-
could i convince you to repost this as a forum?

Actually, I´m tweaking Kwock´s Balance Mod. Making a mod requires a high knowledge of game language and a lot of time balancing, tweaking... And this game is taking too much time from me.

I´ve been playing a lot with it, and I´m trying to make some improvements tweaking costs and sizes but respecting the original idea. I want to fix weird costs (like resupply/unarmed transport ships being much more expensive than fully armed ships), solve the DUC/CSM trouble and make bigger ships more playable. I´m tired of playing only with frigates and light freighters.

BTW, I can help You tweaking your Mod project, if You dont mind adding a "banana tech" racial trait Eye-wink

well -
i was wondering if and when anyone would suggest that...

like total war has its barbarian invasion, etc.?

slap down some "scenarios",
several AI templates (personalities)
-peeka could use 1 -
and some new alien empires/shipsets to make use of 'the new ai personalities-

hopefully with support for pirates & monsters

it'd be golden.

when do you suggest yourself as project co-ordiantor and email all that to aaron?
