Planet X vs. System X Facility question

Image de Martock
Soumis par Martock le Mar, 2007-02-06 21:10 Space Empires V FAQs

Do the bonuses of having a planetary Mineral Scanner stack with the System Mineral Scanner? While I know that there can only be 1 system x facility per system, and 1 planetary x facility per planet, does the eventual discovery of the system x facility render the others obsolete?

In SE:IV, you could stack a System and Planet resource modifier. But in SE:V according to the modding guide, the more modifier facilities you have (system or otherwise) they stack...

Ignore the bad grammar. What I was trying to say was that their modifiers would stack. So if you had 1 planetary and 1 system at 30% bonus each, you'd get 60%. If you had 2 of each, then you'd get 120% bonus etc. In SE:IV, they'd only stack once.

Oh? so if i build more than 1 to a planet i would get more or do you mean the total bonus for the system would be X amount of planetarys plus the 1 system facility?

I assume you mean 2 of each (from different facilities), then they will stack? If they stacked with themselves (despite the description) that'd be a bit uber.

I'm saying in theory they should stack with themselves... which is not so hot for balance... but perhaps due to maintenance costs there is a limiting factor to this potential craziness.

It is: one system mulitpler per system. Planet mulitplers can be put on each planet. Hope this makes it clearer... =)

Have you tested it to see if multiple types of the same facility stack together?

If I was awake enough I would test that theory out. I never put more then 1 per planet as it says only one per planet on planetary modifers.

A quick history lesson on the legend:

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

and Hallmark capitalized on all of this.... Don't send me flowers, I prefer VS... (Let's see who can figure that out.)
