Wondering how the patches how influenced modding...
Have they improved it or not?
Do you feel the stock AI is taking steps in the right direction?
I've heard the latest patch actually changed thing a bit negatively for modding. Your opinion on this?

The stock AI was improved and their are plans for more work.
It wasn't negative for modders. It's wanting to use some of the new AI functions and meshing them with your AI that can be time-consuming.
