Can't Hit Broad Side of a Barn

I have run into a situation early in a game with DUC Level 1 combats where when I enter a combat, at normal speed the ships circle each other and neither ship ever hits the other.

I've repeated the battles numerous times, altering the ranges and the speed of the combat and the range has absolutely no effect, at point blank they still miss. But if I speed the combat up to 8x they finally start hitting one another. It is getting frustrating because the battles are repeating over and over and no ships ever get destroyed.

Anyone else ever observed this? Any suggestions on how to fix? The weird thing is if I go to
the space combat simulator, the ships seem to hit each other frequently at the 1x speed.

in cirtain systems and sectors you get big moidfires to you hitting score and you just can not hit for toffy

dont forget that weapon accuracy is also effected by crew experiance if thats implemented and crew experiance is not factored in to simulator fights. Green crews can be a liability in real fights

Combat Sensors will also help.

That they will but if you have one on a ship design then it will count both in actual and simulated combat equily, or should do.

So eithr way that will increase the % of shots to hit. Just use CS Missile and solve your problems that way (J/K)

I decided to go the CSM route. They don't miss, although interestingly the PD weapons missed the CSMs almost every shot. They hit maybe 10% of the time.

There was nothing listed in the sector description as to why the accuracy would be so poor in just that system. I took over another empire and tried fighting in different sectors with DUCs and they behaved normally. It was just that one sector, normal sector, one sun, a number of planets....

Which he because a he isn't me... That's just wierd...

If the system doesn't have any negative modifiers then maybe (if your using combat sensors) its just the experence level of your crew.

There is a problem with projectile direct fire weapons and missing a circling oponent. Until it's fixed this behavior is unavoidable. I'd suggest beam weapons as a workaround, since they don't suffer this problem.
