_texture_ship_bmp and _fleet.bmp not loading on custom sets

I am playing with the Colonial and Cylon shipsets but each game they load this shipset I get the following error:

Cannot load .............. _texture_ship.bmp
.............. _testure_fleet.bmp

I thought I saw a thread about this but I can't find it anywhere, any help would be appericiated.

It could be that the files arent there, or there is a mistake in the Empire_AI_Main.txt file. Also check the Empire_Ship_Xfileclasses.txt to see that the ship texture name matches with what is listed in that file. Ship texture name being the texture that gets wraped around the model in game. I will download these shipsets and see if I can figure out whats wrong.

I've downloaded the Cylon fleet, and have discovered the problem. The Colonial_Flag_Texture_Ship file and the Colonial_Flag_Texture_Fleet are unreadable by the game. I couldnt figure the problem out until I constructed a ship. When I moved it from the planet all I saw was a big white block where the ship flag texture is supposed to be. Same with a fleet, I constructed another ship and made it into a fleet. Same thing again, when I moved the fleet all I saw was a big white block where the Fleet flag texture is supposed to be. Theres a also another file missing which doesnt appear to have any impact on the game. I might want to wait for an update for this shipset. Its the same problem for the Cylon ship set as well.

The Colonial and Cylon set you mention are probably my creation (hosted on the SpaceEmpire.net forum) and I do have first hand experience with all the possible errors.

The first thing I would do is download a fresh copy (if your willing to wait until after the weekend I'll have the 2.0 update ready for release) of the shipset, re-install SEV with the latest patch then put the shipset into the required directory.

I've had many errors crop up that associate with different files from different custom shipsets and it was due to the patch update. Once I re-installed SEV and the updates, the sets worked fine.

To get the error your experiencing its a file name association, possibly due to file courruption or copy error. Hope that helps and that you still enjoy the shipset, its going to get even better.

The Colonial_AI_Main file is referring to the wrong files. The two errant lines should be:

Image Empire Flag Ship Texture := Colonial\Colonial_Flag_Texture_Ship.bmp
Image Empire Flag Fleet Texture := Colonial\Colonial_Flag_Texture_Fleet.bmp

Note the missing "_Flag_" portion of the string. This is the same problem in the Cylon_AI_Main file.

Thanks Kato, I finally fixed that bug. I'll have updated shipsets by tonight (want to finish the Cylon set for release 2.0).

Actually its both now, with a racial trait (Organic of course) you can access the RDM Cylon ships and play with both or you can forgo the organic trait and just play with the 70's version.
