What happened to the forums and blogs here? Did the server crash and have to be restored? Most of the posts are missing!

Yes, a failure occurred to a critical service. We had to perform a roll-back to the 18th. I'll be performing a more thorough analysis and with any luck salvage the new content created. Worst-case are unfortunately that posts will be lost and static content will have to be recreated.

This isn't the kind of thing any web operator expects. We had performed backups but for now we'll have to revert back a few days until we can ascertain what has happened. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst as they say.
Indeed many may feel their keystrokes were 'lost', but by the time we understand better what transpired, those missing posts and content may simply have been replaced. If not I have a dump of the data at time of crash, so perhaps those posts can be re-inserted.

Yep. It looks like the forum reverted back to a few days before launch. I certainly hope they can everything back.
