Resupplying Ships |
Does anyone have any suggestions on what would be the best way to resupply my ships on the utskirts of my little empire. I am still leraning the in and outs of the game so any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm still building the empire... So it is not always easy sending a fleet out when doing recon. Maybe I'm using the wrong designed ship. I'm going to see if a redesign will do me better.

Scouts
Its well worth designing specialist scouts which will include more resuply than you would put on a warship. Weapons can be considered redundant on Scouts especially early on. Other than that its worth building resuply bases in peripheral colonies early as they will serve to support fleets later in the game when upgraded
Supply Ships
A resupply depot (or two) is always helpful on frontier colonies, but you'll probably want to design some supply ships (lots of supply storage + solar panels if you have them) to accompany your ships.
