AI Minister Autorefit - Space Bases |
This could be just me being blind and missing a 'refit all' button. Wouldn't that be nice...
Anyway, I was trying to use the Refit all ships minister to keep my fleet up to date. And I noticed that it was trying to move my starbases(often to the co-ordinates they were on since I had construction bases there) and then give them the refit order. End result. My Bases never refited since they could never move.
It seems that it wants to treat a space base like a ship when it comes to refitting. And I couldn't find the refit order that made it move anywhere in the moddable AI files, only the issueing of the order. So this is possibly something unmoddable also.

If you keep researching base construction then you will uncover baseships.
Baseships are movable bases. They can have engines and a max move of 4 I believe.

Refit Bases
The AI script for the retrofit order is not checking if the vehicle is a base and so that is why it is treating it like a ship. Anyway, you'll need to manual refit the base by sending a SY ship to the same sector as the base (unless it's already in orbit of a planet with a SY).

And I usually have a space yard base sitting there anyway. Just refitting them by hand is horribly tedious when I have about 30 base positions & multiple bases, and I wish they could actually just do it by AI sometimes.

I thought u couldn't move space bases. If someone could tell me how that would be fantastic.
