How can you tell what treaty elements are different when AI proposes changes?

Soumis par vorius le Jeu, 2006-12-21 10:48 Space Empires V General

When the AI proposes a change to an existing treaty how can I quickly tell what parts they changed?

And how can I stop the AI from offering such treaties with clauses such as I cannot conduct research or all our research gets shared? I wish I could just flag some treaty elements as "I will never accept" so the AI just doesn't annoy me by repeatedly offering treaties with those clauses.

Personally I think the diplomacy interface could use some streamlining in general, I find I waste a lot of time clicking and digging through screens just to conduct basic diplomacy and responding to the many AI requests.

Click on the View button, top middle box on the screen when you look at the communication.

I agree that some of the options available are just plain silly to offer as part of a standard diplomacy act. That said being able to win a war and put restrictive clauses on your beaten foe is a nice idea, I just think that these should be time restricted. i.e. I have kicked you from one end of the galaxy to the other, but not exterminated you, out of the goodness of my heart I have decided against exterminating you and know you won't surrender, so I offter you a peace treaty that stops you from doing any research for 10 turns. Its harsh but so is loosing a war.

There is no easy way you have to look through the treaty manually clause by clause and it’s foolish not to as agreeing to certain clauses will really screw you over

You cant the only thing you can do is to vary the components of a treaty is to make a counter proposal without the elements you don’t want in it. The AI is unlikely to accept this but will if you persist come up with something you can accept.

I like the way diplomacy works in this game its one of its best features especially now that the Alliance bug is fixed. I will agree it’s complicated but I happen to believe it’s a good thing I. It also gives a lot to multiplayer games
