Modding Weapon Mount Delay?

Image de Tzur
Soumis par Tzur le Mer, 2006-12-20 02:52 SE:V MODs

Is it possible to mod a mount to effect a weapon's delay?

I'm hoping to make a couple delay mounts (~200MS) to spread out fire (especially Point Defense) - rather than add duplicate entries of various components. The closest work-around I've managed is to decrease range by one or two per, but that has it's limits...

Search has failed me and I fear my script-mongering is less than par... =L

We've looked into this, as of right now your best bet is to make a separate weapon that has a faster reload rate. There isn't currently a mount solution to reload rate. Maybe Arron could add this... Hint, hint...

The down side to making a separate weapon is that the AI probably wont use it. So your giving yourself an even bigger advantage over the AI.

I've made a gattling meson blaster which fires at a rate of 250ms, it's pretty cool to see that thing go at a close range making dust out of a whole fleet.

SEV, more than a feeling.

Alright, thanks, I was afraid that was the case. I suppose that means I'll being adding secondary batteries in my mod. Now if I can only convince Aaron to add area of effect to damage types so we can mod in some real flak cannons(and maybe make other torpedos actually useful). =d

(As for AI, I'd rather play against myself(hot seat), I find myself to be a much more challenging opponent and it sucks when you know you're fighting an opponent that knows your every move... Just have to make sure I don't talk to Me, Myself or I. /grin)
