Please add "Auto Select" |
This bugs me, when i click on a sector that has a planet or ship i own, i have to select that thing from the interface before i can give it an order. it would be less annoying if the game would automaticaly select the units that can preform that order when i click on it, for example, if theres a sector with a planet and a ship in it, if i click on the sector and click on "construction" it will automatically go to the planet, if i click move it will automatically go to the ship. if theres more then one capable unit have a setting in the empire options to either select all or the most capable(faster construction capability, higher movement points etc.)

What I would like to see is
What I would like to see is this (maybe it is already possible and I am not using the interface right):
My turns consist of three phases: 1) Read the galactic news and set queues for new planets and research.
2) Go through the production list of my planets and either: hit the upgrade all facilities button (a brilliant time-saver this one), or add items to empty queues, or both.
3) Step through my active ships with the space bar to give orders.
This last part is the problem. Ships that I have assembled into fleets that have already moved, but still have individual movement remaining pop up twice using this spacebar selection method. Is there some way to have ships that are in fleets that have already moved no longer show up as ships that do not have orders??

easily fixed...
YES! this can be fixed, just load up your game and goto "Empire Options" (Shift-O, or hit the button with the crown picture on it.)
Scroll down to "Next/Previous", and there is a selection for "Next Previous skips ships in fleets". Then the space bar will no longer select ships in fleets, just scroll through your fleets using the Home and End keys.

It's what you know about who you know.

Depends on the circumstances
Depends on the circumstances as to whether or not an auto select would be useful. Sometimes I need to pick and choose which ships I want to give orders to. On one hand an auto select feature would be nice, but then that would make selecting multiple ships and planets more difficult.
