Does colony subversion via inteligence work? |
I created a game last night to see if I could obtain an intelligence victory.
Subverting colonies appears not to work? I get a message in the log saying the colony has rebelled and joined my empire, but it DOESN'T (and if it's recapured instantaneously i should get a "colony recaptured..." log message?)
What am I doing wrong? Or have I just lost another 3 hours of my time to a bug or unimplemented feature? Real playtime so far: 25 hours. Lost playtime so far: 33 hours. This will be 28/33 or 25/36 depending on the result of this query

Wait so you can have more
Wait so you can have more than 20 empires in your game if you use this method?

Consult the great SEV Wiki

Nope, 20 max
No, you cannot. In SE:IV, the puppet political parties did the same thing, but it would never succeed if the game already had 20 empires in it. Should be the same in SE:V.

I've played around with this
I've played around with this some. When a colony rebels, it currently forms an empire of its own. The bug may be incorrect text as opposed to incorrect mechanic. Check to see if your game now has A LOT of empires..
