Question: Are ships with repair bays onboard self-repairing while idle?
And what a fleet containing one or more ships carrying repair bays? Are the repairs automatic or do you have to command each ship individually to be repaired?

repair bays should automaticaly repair any of your ship/station they are in the same sector with.
you can manage repair prioritys in the empires-options (quickkey was shift+O i think).

Repair bays automatically work

Repair bays automatically work on any ship in the sector with you when you stop. You can actually keep driving and just ignore them, and they will do their own thing provided you don't die. If you cloak your ship, repair bays will only be able to repair you, according to the documentation, but I have not seen evidence to support this. Seems cloaks in general are slightly buggy.

Thanks for the added info, Fishman. I've not toyed with cloaking yet - perhaps it will be corrected in the next patch before I get to it.
