Infuriating Political AI

I have yet to see a sensible, reasonable, effective, working political AI.
1. I am so f'ing tired of trying to modify an existing treaty and being told no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no... If you don't get the idea then start reading this paragraph from the beginning again; repeat this as often as necessary until you DO get it. The idiotic AI won't even make a counter offer. Has anyone evem made a successful alliance with a computer AI that lasted more than a game year?

2. I am tired of going to war over nothing!

3. I am tired of infinite wars. It's a good thing that Races never get tired of af war because it is absolutely, emphatically impossible end one. Yes, there are exceptions as some races are warlike but even they often see the benefit of a cease fire! Although in this and all games like it, ALL AI are warlike despite the race description.

4. So what's the point? I am tired of pointless race descriptions. Either be true to the description and racial traits or lose them entirely.

5. I am tired of AI that won't budge. No peace, no treaty changes, no surrender, No assistance of any kind only demands...

6. I am tired of AI that prefers their own genocide to surrender.

7. I am tired of AI that won't condcede to an obviously more powerful foe. Even Japan conceeded in WWII. Not only did they survive as a Race, they have prospered. But not in this and other games like it. These races prefer their own demise.

8. I am tired of AI that fails to recognize the difference between good and bad actions, the lesser of two evils (not that I'm evil and the concept of evil is entirely societal), so yes my actions may be interpreted as evil by my enemy. But this AI and all others before it don't have a clue.

9. I am tired of not knowing WTH they even want. If this means I must research a tech (even per race) to modify my dialog to better interact with a race then so be it but ALL dialog and AI is the SAME.

10. I have absolutely no desire to micromanage politics in this or any game to maintain good relations. This should be automatic. I shouldn't have to send a senseless "General" message every turn to keep a "Treatied" race relation from decreasing. My Ministers (more sinister than Minsters) shouldn't be instigating war (bad relations) unless this is my racial trait!
And "Non-Agression" means what it says! If it doesn't, then change the treaty element to make sense!

11. I am slightly drunk and more prone to expressing my frustration... I shouldn't be driving or operating heavy machinery let alone Starships.

12. Just give me an option to turn off ALL political dialog. Don't even bother to send me a "We are at war" message! It is pointless because I will be at war with ALL races eventually. All I have to do is navigate through their home system...

Need To Research Universal Communicator

You need to research universal communicators in order to have better luck with negotiating with the AI. It's listed under "Weapons Technology", as "Energy-Pulse Weapons". This then unlocks the universal communicator module, which you need to equip on your ships. You can find it under the "Weapons" tab, as "Meson Blaster". The more you equip on your ship, the more effectively you can communicate.

The only universal communicator the AI's understand are good weapons. Forget diplomacy with the AI's, especially if you make them hard and give them bonuses.

There is a more important issue than politics : the AI can't even make war effectively. So, there's no point in making alliances, you can just wipe them all out.

Thanks for this researh tip. I don't know how I missed it but it's working great!
