New Game

Soumis par TheStuff07 le Lun, 2006-12-04 17:14 Space Empires V FAQs

I know this is stupid, but when making a new game with an empire that you've used before and has acquired technology, why is it that you aren't allowed to add it because it has too many research points used? The thing says "Technology points for NEW players", not ones you've already used. It didn't have that problem in SE4, but then again, SE4 didn't exactly go on that same basis. And what was the deal with Race Age in SE4 when it didn't show any purpose that I saw? lol.

Tech Points

If I'm understanding what you're saying, you think you can research something in one game, save the empire, and still have the research when you load it up.

Sorry, no you can't.

lol. That's not what I'm

lol. That's not what I'm talking about. I don't care if I can have the research in the new game or not. What I care about is having the same empire in a new game, without having to reset all the options in-game again, and typing out all the info when making a new empire.

I've never tried saving a

Soumis par maran le Mar, 2006-12-05 17:12

I've never tried saving a race mid game, only starting ones at the creation screen to save time but there should be a technology points option when you start a game, which you can edit from 0 through a few options to all.

I have no idea if the race you saved will save its techs though, if not you can alter the starting technology for the race when you edit it at creaton.

I know I can change what I

Soumis par TheStuff07 le Mar, 2006-12-05 20:24

I know I can change what I want the game to allow new empires, but I just want to keep the same empire I used in my last game, and that doesn't seem to want to work. Sad If I set the tech for new players to 0, it says I can't add a race that I used before because it has used too many tech points. And it's used way too many for anything except selecting "All", which I don't want to have. No beginning tech, but same empire from last time. Does anyone understand that? lol. I know I'm not making much sense. Sorry.

Try selecting all, the going in and removing all chosen techs... probably won't work since all makes al go to max, but maybe you can do soemthign with that.

Nope, I tired that before I made the first post, and it didn't work. Sad

I think its is in the right direction but after deselecting any tech researched go back and set Tech for new empire to 0.
I did this to make empires from the default races (I hated random number of races so not i just picke the ones i want to fight err ...live peacefuly with
