Another Area for AI Improvment |

I recently attacked an AI home world that had 3 star bases, about 12 satellites, and 34 ships. I was excited to finally get a major battle going. To my surprise, all of the ships retreated from combat right from the start because they were either out of supplies or out of ammo. During the next few turns I noticed that this huge fleet did not move. It appears that the Ai is not sending its fleets back to get supplies. I will now use fighters to take these ships out (have to catch them) but its a real let down not to face them in an epic battle.
Was this their last planet?
Was this their last planet? I had that happen with a Neutral, I took down their homeworld which was actually relatively well-defended...star bases and loads of CSM Weapon Platforms...Pretty scary sight when a planet files a beeline of 60 or so Caps at any level. Cool sound though
Most of the transport fleet and mine layers retreated, I didn't bother chasing. After playing the missle dance in Real-Time flying in and out of range with a couple of Meson-PD cannons I managed bombard the planet enough to kill most of the WP's and get a troop ship down and conquer it.
The AI had a fleet of attack ships on the backdoor Warp Point but didn't bother pulling them in for a counter attack. The rest of the auxilary ships hung out parked by the conquered homeworld until they disbanded from lack of maintenance. The Warp Point defenders followed the same fate.
This was a Trinary System with one planet so the AI only had one Resupply Depot at lvl 1 or 3 with 20+ ships 3 Space Stations, 10+ Sats, and the Weapon Platforms. So they may have lost supplies very quickly, I also figure the AI might just give up after loosing their last planet.
Checking on the AI from the inside by player swapping is a good idea on the developmental side to see how it works and what it does for future tweaks. I haven't tried it yet in SEV.

It could be they decided the
It could be they decided the strength of your fleet was too high also or did you check they were out of supply?
This would be handy to know as I currently have my fleet defense at an even higher percentage, where as I haven't looked at fiddling with supply orders. It may be they don't move them to supply in a defense state, which can be fixed.
Anyway, if you could check if they are out of supply it would help thanks.
-Edit you can do this by going into the menu, clicking players (I think) and typing in the game master password, which should be master, unselecting them and seeing what they are up to.
(It might ruin the game for you to know all about them though
, but even if you saved this save game and did it when there dead it would still help me)
