Construction Problems - Things being built with wrong Components? |
I am not quite sure what the problem is that is causing this but... after a while, I seem to be developing problems in my construction of Ships, Units and Bases.
After they're finished being constructed.. I find that many of the components used, are not the components I designed them with.
For example... list night... my Empire was wiped out because I mistakenly sent in a fleet of planet bombing Frigates to wipe out an enemies homeworld, without realizing that my shipyards built 10 Frigates with 5 Crew Quarters each, instead of the guns, bombs, and a couple other essential components.
I felt like an idiot.. took my proud fleet all the way to the enemy world, gave the order to attack and my ships flew up to the planet... and then just sat there, staring at it... then turned around and flew away, because they had no weapons!
Tonight, I seem to be having them same problem...
Now, the race is fairly smart. I mean I did not select any racial or imperial attributes when designing it, that would hinder construction efforts. I'v dumped research points into education while playing, thinking that maybe my people are getting dumb as they produce newer generations, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I have research maxed out on Construction, and that doesn't help either...
Everytime I try to build something new, I end up with an excessive amount of Crew Quarters being installed instead of the Components that I put in the design...
Is there something else that I need to be researching here that is the cause of this?
No bombardment
that is the no bombardment treaty icon.
Note that no-bombardment clauses apply to all races. So if you have a treaty with one race that prohibits it, you cannot bombard ANY planet.
Real simple.
You have a treaty. They don't.
Empire A makes a treaty with Empire B that says "No bombarding planets".
Empire C attacks Empire A. They CAN bombard Empire A's planets.
Empire A attacks back. They CAN'T bombard C's planets, because of their treaty with B.
Entirely possible a bug was making the icon show up incorrectly, but that's the most common reason for it.

If you're looking at the
If you're looking at the damage tab of the ship report window, then it displays the wrong icons. Click over the the components tab and you get the correct stuff.
Chances are your ships didn't attack because they lacked supplies/ordnance, or you have a treaty which prevents planetary bombardment.
