Description
Greetings!
I've sent an email awhile ago to the account when I first encountered this issue with v1.13. Unfortunately, I didn't have a save game available to send in. =(
This time, I've gone ahead and saved a game prior to a combat scenario!
What happens is, when I attack another ship within my sector, I choose the "Strategic" option to handle combat. I then adjust the speed, usually to 8x, and let it begin as such. When the combat finishes, I click the 'Close', and immediately get sent to my desktop -- with a white background in the form of a window of sorts. I receive a *variety* of "Exception" errors, "Access Violations" of some sort that vary with each 'click' of the OK button on the message dialog box.
The only way for me to thusly end the program, is to go into task manager and end the process for se5.exe =(
In any case, I've sent an email again to , but I see there's an option here to attach a file. I've gone ahead and .ZIP'd up all files within my Savegames folder that have my Save game title associated with it (1st117), and I hope this can help.
Essentially, when you start up the game with this, you'll see my fleet (it's the only fleet I have), and within that same sector, there's an enemy ship that I went to attack. Should be easily re-created, I hope!
It's really kept me from continuing on in my game, as it's quite evident that combat will be inevitable for me! =(

Decided to give the 'Tactical' a go through, and it seems I'm able to complete a combat sequence this way!
Though, it still does crash when attempting a Strategic method. Thankfully, I can still progress through my game from the looks of things! (downgraded priority for time being)
More info on my particular settings:
HP Pavillion DV5250US laptop
2 gigs system RAM
GeForce Go 7400 Videocard (128 dedicated, up to an additioanl 128 meg pulled from system RAM)
120 gig HD
nVidia driver version: 84.54
Running game at 1280x800 resolution, on my primary graphics display.
I'll tinker around with my settings, and hopefully find a way to get this sorted out!
I went ahead and tinkered about my display modes -- apparently, running at 1024x768 32-bit resolution, I'm able to actually undergo Strategic combat. HOWEVER, if I'm running at 1280x800 32-bit, it'll crash with the "Access Violation" method.
