Fleets won’t attack enemy planet with mines. |
Does anyone know why my fleets won’t attack an enemy planet with mines? My fleets will attack their other planets but they won’t attack this planet with mines and the enemy fleet protecting it so it is making my citizens in that system unhappy and they are rioting. I tried adding some mine sweepers, but this didn’t seem to help.

There's an option under Empire Options that should allow your ships to move into a sector with mines...

Try sending the sweepers in first
Never had this one but try sending the sweepers in first with defensive orders not to get hurt to clear the mines as the fleet might be scripted to avoid suicide runs through mine fields if they have ships which cant sweep
But...

Shouldn't a direct "move" or "attack" order override that setting?

The way I do it is to first
The way I do it is to first remove the Mined tag from the enemy planet. Once this is removed your fleet will attck the planet when ordered. I don't have the game in front of me but you remove the tag by first selecting the mined planet/hex and then use one of the options at the lower right.
shortcut
highlight the square with the mine icon and hit control-spacebar. that toggles the minefiled marker.

What exactly is going on? Simply having mines there hsouldn't stop you from entering it...
