Whoops.... Super whoops..... |
Ok, here's not what to do when you're dominating a game you've been playing for weeks versus the AI....
Instead of demanding the surrender of one of your nearly crushed foes....
You accidentally surrender to a race with one planet left....
Imagine.....
I think surrender orders should come with a double/triple/quintuple check before actually happening....
Grrr....

LOL
LOL
I almost did that myself
I almost did that myself javaslinger.
I would think that an "Are you sure?" prompt would be a good idea since Surrendering is not a high frequency action but it is a very significant action.
Minbari?
Your not Minbari are you by any chance as that was a really bone headed thing to do
Sorry about that but all you have to do then is leave the game and start playing the now dominant race you just surrendered to

Definitively Minbari
Definitively a Minbari move.
Btw as far as I know asking the AI to surrender is useless : I've never seen it accepting any surrender, even with a single planet left…no retreat, no surrender

Feel lucky earthling ?
I have had 3 AI's surrender
I have had 3 AI's surrender in my last game.
The game was not on the highest difficulty, still learning (at medium)
2 of the AI's do not surrender and died screaming.

I have yet to see the AI
I have yet to see the AI ever surrender (I play on hard) even when I have them knocked down to 1 planet with only a couple of million people on it, no defences of any sort, no facilities and a fleet of my own (including troop transports that have been used agaisnt them before) in orbit. I have tried turn after turn demanding their surrender.
P.S. from bitter experience in SEIV I ALWAYS save the game before I ever ask for a race to surrender.

There is an auto save option
There is an auto save option in game, you can autosave every turn.
You can save the game by yourself, even multiple times every turn.
And you should read what you do, before doing it.
I do not need a check.
