Ground Combat - Nobody moves

Good day.

Bought the game last week. Had fun bashing things up in space and finally decided to make a planetary invasion. Build troop ships, installed them with the requisite armor, weapons and thrusters. Placed them on a frieghter. Attacked a planet and dropped my troops on the planet's surface and anxiously awaited the end of turn so that ground combat could commence.

Nothing happened.
Oh the planetary invasion screen came up and a map of a cityscape came up. The troopships and the enemy just sat there. I could not move them. I did install thrusters and all the requisite equipment on the troopships, but on the surface - they did nothing.

Anyone care to enlighten me on the finer points of ground combat?

Sincerely,

Gaultesian

It's a known problem, and one that'll be fixed in the next patch.
If you don't want to wait a couple days, you can go into the VehicleSizes.txt file in the Data folder and change Engines Per Move = 0 to Engines Per Move = 1 and your troops will happily scoot about the battlefield.

Suction feet are not to be trifled with!

Right on - thanks for the tip.

I guess I will change the required file until 1.16 comes down the pipe.

Thanks again.
