How to end intelligence |
Hi, anybody knows how, after intelligence (ex. ship expioning), to put it to none? Put intel to 0% not works because my race continu to expion the enemy.
Thanks

*blinks* er... I know he didn't really make a lot of sense in english, but I think he was trying to say how to stop attacking another player. (IE: I believe he put some points into "ship espionage" and now even though he sets it at 0%, he's still espionaging the other player.) I can't figure out how that happens or why, and it might be a bug, one that I haven't ran into yet, so I don't have any solution for it. (Some clarification on what is happening would help greatly.)
However, if you just want to end all intel, it is much easier to edit the intelligence facilities and make them produce 0 intel points. In which case, no one can use intel, and people will have a ton of useless facilities lying around, but you won't need to start a new game. Keep in mind though, that certain AI likes to use spies a lot, and if you disable them, they become complete pushovers.
That is why I said to edit
That is why I said to edit the techtree. The Ai is weak now, even when playing on high settings.
A lot of useless facilities on the planets does not help the ai to get better. If you edit the techtree and make them unresearchable, the ai will use the space on the planets to build other facilities.
But if he really meant, how can I stop an intel project against one enemy, all I can say is that it worked for me to set the slider to 0%.

Also I was under the
Also I was under the impression that if you edited data files that doesn't effect exsisting games. I thought that the game loaded all the data files at the start of the game and doesn't access them again. what's the word on this?
Changes to the
Changes to the components.txt, facilities.txt, vehiclesize.txt or other txt will effect an existing game ( do not know if it works for all .txts ). If you change the research tree it will also effect an existing game ( have not tried it with outgreyed research ).
If you change the pictures the changes will be shown too ( I like green and blue planets after the atmosphere changed so every time I get an grey, pink or yellow planet, I save, quit, search the terrock.bmps till I find my planet, open my old paintshop and recolor it ).
If you want to do it too, the bitmaps you are looking for are under :
Pictures\Planets ( xyz planet + xyz planet_lp + planets.bmp )
Pictures\Models ( xyz planet )

Edit the TechAreas.txt Name
Edit the TechAreas.txt
Name := Intelligence Services

Description := The capability of an empire to gather and perform intelligence actions.
Picture Number := 83
Maximum Level := 100
Level Cost := 5000
Start Level := 0

Requirements Evaluation Allows Usage := TRUE
Requirement 1 Description := Empire must have at least tech level 22 in Physics.
Requirement 1 Formula := Get_Empire_Tech_Level("Physics") >= 22
And because you can not get Physics to level 22, you and the ai will not be able to build Inteligence Centers. Bad thing is that you have to start a new game.
